These paintings were commissioned by a friend of mine who is a brilliant chef with a keen interest in history. His chain of restaurants Mālā-Akbari serves historic cuisine with vernacular recipes picked up from various points of our country's past and present. Apart from eating the delicious food served there, one also gets to know the history behind the dishes and much more.

In this series of paintings, I have captured various aspects of our country's culture, history and tradition in my own style. This project required me to learn a lot about our country's rich history, and was thus an educating experience.
