Daydream
This is one of the first few pieces I made when I started painting. I used a sketch I made behind one of my college notebooks as a blueprint for this.
It depicts the inside of a head, kind of like a Cartesian theatre. According to Descartes, a human's body is a vehicle, and consciousness requires an immaterial soul which drives the body and acts through it, with the pineal gland being the interacting point of the immaterial soul and the material body.
If this dualism is removed, then all the senses such as sound, sight, touch, smell and others must be providing a sort of input signal, which is being observed by a smaller person/homunculus in a theatre sort of setting.
The theatre/control room in this painting depicts a classroom in the visual input, because the person's body is attending a class, to which the person is evidently not paying attention.
