Dreams, Reality and Other Strange Places
This is a painting done on a (comparatively) bigger canvas. It depicts the internal imaginative space, which according to a lot of philosophies and cultures, is similar to actual space, where objects originate and dissolve. I was going to title this painting 'Aakash' (Ether) i.e. the fifth element according to Vedic philosophy, but I'm keeping that title for another painting.
I have tried to put a lot of symbols and objects which depict ideas/concepts, such as the black hole swallowing the sands of the hourglass, which represent time, the blood which is causing the holy grail to overflow, and many other things. Sometimes I myself discover the symbolic meaning of something I make after I have made it, and for this reason I enjoy painting, sketching or even doodling for that matter. I believe it to be a much more efficient communicator of symbols and concepts.
